Steve Snedecker was the co-founder and director of the Minnesota Sting. He had an outstanding coaching career at the community, high school and club level. He started his coaching career at Bloomington Fastpitch Association, earning state championships each of the seven years he served as coach. Steve’s high school coaching experience includes: Bethany Academy, a private school in Bloomington, where he served as the head coach for 6 consecutive years; and Lakeville North High School coaching staff for four years.
Steve’s most impactful fastpitch accomplishment came from his work in starting the Minnesota Sting in 2004, developing one of the most well known and respected softball club programs in Minnesota. Steve’s coaching career with the Minnesota Sting includes a second place finish at the 2008 18U ASA National tournament and another second place finish in 2011 for the 14U ASA National tournament. Steve has had 11 years of successful and winning seasons with the Minnesota Sting and assisting with Minnesota Bombers teams after the transition to that organization.
Steve was very excited that the organization was transitioning back to Minnesota Sting; we only wish he was able to be here when we did.
Steve was called Grandpa by most of the girls who he loved coaching. He will be truly missed.
RIP "Grandpa" Steve (1956-2024)
